I want to get started in
driving, where can I get some literature? Questions and Answers A: Your best source of information about
carriage driving is through the American Driving Society (ADS), P. O. Box 160,
Metamora, MI 48455, Ph: 810-664-8666, Fax: 810-664-2405. In 1992, fourteen of us
spent many hours in meetings, on the telephone, and at the typewriter to put
together a hand book for drivers, newcomers, or seasoned competitors. This book,
"Manual for Driven Dressage", is still the best read text in our
sport. It covers a variety of subjects, including choice of harness and
carriage. In addition, the manual has a wealth of excellent line drawings that
illustrate the text. I highly recommend that you purchase this manual and that
you become a member of ADS and thereby get a steady stream of information and
advice regarding safe and enjoyable carriage driving.
Q: What are the rules and regulations for the World Equestrian Endurance Championship being held in France? A: Contact the American Horse
Shows Association, 4047 Iron Works Parkway, Lexington, KY 40511, Ph:
606-258-2472 to obtain a copy of the rules.
