question) A: Ask your therapist. Often it is
necessary to have several massages and then exercise to keep area moving freely.
Q: I'm 43 and getting back into riding (trail riding) after 20 years. When I ride, I get knee aches in my right knee. I don't have knee problems otherwise. Could this be a stirrup problem or am I doing something wrong? Is this something that will improve with riding? Is there something to wear that would help until then? A:
First we need to identify where your knee hurts. On the inside or
outside? My guess is on the inside. It is possible that
you strained it a bit to keep your leg on the horse. Try to change
the length of your stirrup, see if that helps. It could also be
related to your right hip. If your hip hurts even a little, you,
unknowingly will try to compensate by changing your leg position. If
you find out that it is your hip, try hot packs or some deep muscle
massage for your hip. Good luck.
